Vehicles in German Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities reported they were contacted by a resident who found a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then found numerous other marked automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; investigators are not yet informed of any physical harm in connection with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the public for details.

An important political figure stated the incident rendered him stunned and required to be addressed promptly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the death of nine victims by a assailant focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
